It began in 2005 and consisted of four founding members. Today the Partnership has grown to twelve members and includes The Boeing Company, Chicago Community Trust, City of Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs, Elizabeth Morse Charitable Trust, Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation, Illinois Arts Council, The Joyce Foundation, John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, J.P. Morgan Chase and Company, Kraft Foods, Union League Civic and Arts Foundation, United Airlines.

The members of the Jazz Partnership recognize jazz in Chicago as a vital part of the city’s history and culture. Therefore through its individual members, the partnership strives to support jazz financially, technically and strategically by leveraging its resources and social networks. The outcome is that jazz in Chicago will be a more financially secure, powerful music sector in Chicago year-round.
